Cenk Uygur (host of The Young Turks) filling in for Chris Jansing on MSNBC Live explains why conservative opposition to gay marriage will eventually be crushed, just like opposition to civil and women’s rights were. 1. recyard12x says:

    @GBU101 funny I got married by the state through a justice of the peace. No god present at all.

  2. GBU101 says:

    @recyard12x
    No, Gen 2:24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, AND THEY SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH. So two become one flesh not 2 soles become 1.

  3. GBU101 says:

    @recyard12x
    I wish he was, it could only do you good.

  4. GBU101 says:

    Soul and flesh are two different things and unite for two different reasons. When souls unite its a spiritual matter.

  5. WaxyDwarf says:

    @GBU101 Credible? You mean like the creation story, which was disproven, or the story of Noah’s ark, also disproven. Or are you referring to Mt. Sinai, which has also been disproven. Jesus’s return? never happened. Perhaps you should actually read other books before you make idiotic statements like that.

  6. recyard12x says:

    @GBU101 well they became 1 flesh in the next passage when they got naked. 4.And Jonathan stripped himself of the robe that was upon him, and gave it to David, and his garments, even to his sword, and to his bow, and to his girdle.
    See jon gave it to david. they consummated their covenant (marriage)

  7. GBU101 says:

    @WaxyDwarf

    How was creation dis-proven?

    Jesus has not returned yet.

    Noes ark was found and exists.

    In the last 2 years of premed I read? quite a bit.

  8. WaxyDwarf says:

    @GBU101 What happened? Did you remove your comment after reading how moronic it was? Noah’s ark found, ha.

  9. GBU101 says:

    @WaxyDwarf
    How was the creation story dis-proven?
    Noah’s ark: read the article by: Leonard David, Live Science Senior Writer.
    As far as I know Jesus has not returned or I wouldn’t be here.

  10. GBU101 says:

    @WaxyDwarf
    No I just made sure i documented as much as possible to remove any misunderstanding of it just being my opinion

  11. GBU101 says:

    @WaxyDwarf
    If Noah ark was not found, Is doesn’t mean the story was disproved. You expect to find a wooden structure thousands of years old? but I believe based on research conducted Noah’s ark was found

  12. WaxyDwarf says:

    @GBU101 No but I would expect to find every specie of animal on this planet inhabiting the same area. There was no flood, there was no Noah.

  13. GBU101 says:

    @WaxyDwarf
    As far as reading goes, I read my biology book a lot more than the Bible.

  14. GBU101 says:

    @WaxyDwarf
    No you wouldn’t. Not after thousands of years. In only a few generations animals can make changes to adapt to their environment, that they can be classified as a subspecies. If you want we can take this subject another time, because I would be glad see how much biology you know, and I could use the review since I’m getting ready to start school again soon

  15. WaxyDwarf says:

    @GBU101 Good, so where is evolution in the bible? Where is Adam and Eve in evolution? More important why don’t you comment on the different species living on different continents?

  16. GBU101 says:

    @GBU101
    In Bio 182 you learn about how species migrate.

  17. GBU101 says:

    @WaxyDwarf
    Micro-evolution is the only evolution. God created all creatures with the ability to adapt and survive. As the environment changes out bodies have to change too.
    One way of migration was through land bridges, the way humans moved from continents to continents. The reason you don’t find animals clustered together is because that’s not their nature. They need space and territory to hunt etc…

  18. GBU101 says:

    @WaxyDwarf
    Take for example rats. Bring a population of rats in a city that does not have rats, ans soon enough they are everywhere not only in the spot you first left them. A more difficult question to answer would be how did the animals come to the ark?

  19. WaxyDwarf says:

    @GBU101 Answer the damn question. How do mammals cross the oceans to get to their natural habitat? Did Noah drop them off where they have naturally adapted? Animals don’t adapt to dramatic changes of environment in only a few generations. You’re not going to pass Biology if you don’t get some understanding of evolution.

  20. WaxyDwarf says:

    @GBU101 Wow you’ve been fed a bunch of nonsense.

  21. GBU101 says:

    @WaxyDwarf
    If the only book that brings eternal salvation is nonsense, then let it be, because It’s the nonsense 2.1 billion Christians believe in, If you have any more questions let me know on my wall, It was nice getting to know others point of view, and I respect it. WaxyDwarf I had a fun time talking to you, and take care…

  22. WaxyDwarf says:

    @GBU101 If you can’t answer a question then don’t comment. And I don’t care whether people believe it, but when it interferes with the rights of citizens it’s a problem.

  23. GBU101 says:

    @WaxyDwarf
    What question did I not answer?

  24. BjoernarEricSven says:

    @playgrrrr
    Thank you for admitting that it is not undisputed. Because over the course of history and in different cultures it DID vary.

    However, fundamental liberties and rights of one group of citizens can’t be withheld on a whim. You ought to have compelling arguments to deny them the pursuit of freedom and happiness. Yet most, if not all, arguments presented by fundamentalists seem rooted in irrational fears, prejudice, discomfort and private moral views.

  25. playgrrrr says:

    @BjoernarEricSven just dont call it marriage and i, at least, will be fine with it. well almost. the thing is that there is a difference between humosexual and heterosexual couples that is not just an assumption that people make. the question is, though, whether or not we want that to matter in cases of tax excempts and all that stuff. the best solution would be to get out of that busyness completely, thus killing that question at the root.
